“It is difficult to express the depth of our thanks for the world of compassion, knowledge and so much more that is indefinable that you have shown Jess over the years. You are a man who obviously loves his job …”

Frequently Asked Questions

What if there is an emergency and I need to see a vet right away?

We know your pet’s health is just like ours and doesn’t always fit a vet clinic appointment schedule. Accidents happen and illness can strike at any time.

During business hours, call our team and they will do their best to fit you into either of our clinics to give your pet the very best emergency care.  Outside of business hours, we have three recommended vet hospitals that we recommend and work together with.  If necessary, we can share information between them to provide you a continuous and seamless care experience.  The 24/7 emergency vet hospitals are VSOS: Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, Small Animal Specialist Hospital and Animal Referral Hospital.  Click here for more information and their contact details.

How much does a visit to the vet cost?

Every procedure and appointment can be completely different, and the costs vary significantly. Services like heartworm, flea, tick or worm treatment are extremely different from a neuter or simple check up, which is again very different from surgery or puppy preschool. This makes it impossible for us to give you a price, but our team is happy to help guide your enquiry. Contact us for more information.

If you are worried about payment options and systems, our team can also give you our range of options and give you more information about how pet insurance works and what would be covered.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments are easy to book with us. Just give our Sutherland or Como veterinary hospital a call or use our online booking system to make an appointment today.

Will my pet be nervous?

We take every care to make you and your pet comfortable when you visit us.  We know that just like seeing a doctor, visiting a vet or animal hospital can be a nervous experience for you and your pet.  You can rest assured that not only are we experts, we also love animals and will do everything we can to put both your minds at ease.

We have a range of pain relief options to ensure that your pet is comfortable and safe during any procedure or surgery.  We know how much you love your pets and that you don’t want to see them in pain.  We use the most modern and up-to-date anaesthesia systems to give them the very best care.

Vet Gymea

We Are Close to Gymea

We are proud to be the number one choice for veterinary services in the Sutherland Shire. We have a wide range of pet patient services available through our team of highly trained, expert vets, from behaviour and training to surgery and advanced medicine.

Our vet team has been caring for and helping pets and their owners across Southern Sydney for the past 25 years.  If you are looking for veterinary services, both of our clinics are less than a 10-minute drive away.  Our Sutherland clinic is just a short drive West on the Old Princes Highway from Gymea, and our Como clinic is only 10 minutes North.  Both our clinics are an excellent option with state-of-the-art equipment and pet care services when you need a Gymea vet.

As your local Gymea vet, you can trust us to take excellent care of your pet.  Whether it’s a routine procedure, check up or emergency, our team of experts will love, care for and treat your pet with the utmost respect, as if they were our own.  If you are looking for a Gymea vet for your fur, scale or feather babies, book an appointment with us today.
