Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have emergency appointments?

We will absolutely do our best to fit you in during an emergency situation, however, we aren’t open 24/7 like some of the local emergency services. These include the Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, the Small Animal Specialist Hospital, and the Animal Referral Hospital. We will work closely with these providers in the event of an emergency to ensure your pet gets the best, most streamlined care.

How much does a visit to the vet cost?

The cost of your vet visit will depend on a number of factors, mainly being the type of care your pet is receiving. The cost of surgery varies from that of vaccinations, and so on. We are always happy to discuss the potential cost of your treatment and ensure you that you won’t have any hidden surprises on your final bill.

How do I schedule an appointment?

It’s simple to book with us! Just give us a call on 02 9545 2100 for our Sutherland Clinic, 02 9589 0022 for our Como Clinic, or click here to book using our online forms.

Will my pet be nervous?

It is common for animals to be nervous when visiting the veterinarian, just as it is for humans to visit the doctor or dentist. Our vets and our vet nurses are experienced with all kinds of nervous animals and have tried and true methods to keep your pet calm. We use top of the line equipment, tools and methods to manage pain and anxiety.

What are some vet duties?

Vets are responsible for the treatment of pets large and small. Vets perform vaccinations, surgeries, aid in the prevention of injury and illness, offer tips and advice around diet and pet health, offer access to medicine, vitamins and special food, check the skin for ticks and fleas, and much more.

Are vet bills negotiable?

Generally, the prices are firm and tailored for the exact treatment your pet received. We do offer different payment methods to make treatment as budget-friendly as possible.

How frequently should you take your pet to the local veterinarian in Kareela, NSW?

In general, most pets should have complete wellness and health check-ups at least once a year. This visit will track your pets growth and development and give you a chance to discuss any concerns you have with your veterinarian. Other than this, a visit to the vet is only necessary for illness, injury or vaccinations.

Are there any emergency animal hospitals near me in Kareela, NSW?

Yes, we are affiliated with a few to ensure streamlined care for your pet, these include the Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, the Small Animal Specialist Hospital, and the Animal Referral Hospital. For more information about where to take your pet in the event of an emergency, click here.
